Seven rooms, one porch breakfast: reserve a Solomons bed and breakfast stay

A Solomons bed and breakfast stay puts two midweek nights in a Victorian house at the tip of a Chesapeake Bay island, where the Patuxent River opens toward the water. Seven guest rooms means seven places counted on this page's drawing. We ask the innkeeper which rooms are free and write you a single quote.

Seven settings make a mid-sized table: enough company to keep breakfast lively, and a real choice of rooms compared with a four- or five-room inn. Two of the seven rooms are in a carriage house behind the main house, so breakfast on the porch brings together guests from both buildings.

Victorian house, carriage house, seven rooms

Yellow Victorian house with a corner turret and white porch seen across calm water

The inn is a 1906 Victorian house at the tip of the island, with a carriage house behind it on the same lot. Five guest rooms sit in the main house on the first through third floors, and two more are in the carriage house. The ground-level carriage house room has a private entrance and is the only one that takes pets, for a nightly pet fee. Whether it meets ADA standards has yet to be confirmed, so ask and the office will put the question to the innkeeper.

Guests from all seven rooms take a three-course breakfast on the enclosed porch. Check-in runs 3 pm to 7 pm and check-out is at 11 am. The inn welcomes adults in the standard rooms, and children 5 to 16 stay in the larger suites.

Two nights for two, from a quoted figure

The figure uses the midweek rate of $199 a night for December 2 to 4, 2026, for two guests sharing one room for two nights. That comes to $400 for two, or $200 per person. The 6% Maryland tax and the 5% Calvert County hotel tax are extra. Rates were read from the inn's reservation page on November 4, 2026, and the quote confirms the real rate before anything is reserved.

Counted in the total

  • two nights in a standard room for two
  • the three-course breakfast for both guests each morning
  • the office's work on the quote

Left to pay separately

  • Maryland sales tax of 6% and the Calvert County hotel tax of 5%
  • the larger suites, which start higher
  • dinners and lunches
  • fuel on the way
  • anything you add at the inn yourself

Timing around a quiet stretch in November

The inn showed no open rooms from November 11 to November 24, 2026, so the figure above comes from the December 2 to 4 midweek rate instead. Send your dates and we ask the innkeeper about those exact nights.

Ninety-three miles south, then the harbor on foot

From Towson it is 93 miles, about 2 h 18 min by car. The general way runs south by interstate toward Annapolis, then down Calvert County on Route 2 and Route 4 to the island; traffic changes the time. Once there, a harbor boardwalk follows the Patuxent past marinas and waterfront seafood places, and a maritime museum and a screwpile lighthouse sit about a mile away, with Chesapeake Bay views along the shore.
